Did you know that Michael Jordan was not accepted to his Junior Varsity basketball team? Luckily, after not making the cut, he embraced a "Growth Mindset" and viewed his setback as an opportunity to practice and revise his skills. He grew, learned lessons from the basketball coach, and he was eventually added to the team. You probably know the rest of that story. What you may not know is that individuals, specifically students, are often stuck in the opposite mindset - “the Fixed Mindset”.
This September, Circles of Innovation kicks off its fall sessions with Mindset and Motivation where we will learn more about the power of Growth Mindset in the classroom. There will be laughs, surprises, teacher tricks, and rich discussion on Mindset (Carol Dweck's work) and as always expect some innovative brick & click strategies for engaging your students.
