Fire Science Academy Track, Information Session

The Fire Science Academy Track is designed to provide students with the education, training, skills, and abilities for a successful fire service career. Students will learn to function as a member of a team through instruction and team building exercises. Students who successfully complete the Fire Science Academy Track will be highly marketable for a career in the fire service.

Students successfully completing the Fire Science Academy Program will receive the following:

  • Associate in Science Degree - Fire Science Technology (60 college credits)
  • EMT (Emergency Medical Technology) - Technical Certificate (must pass a state exam)
  • Minimum Standards Training - Firefighter I and II - Career Certificate (must pass a state exam)

Potential Careers:

  • Fire fighter                                      
  • Fire Safety Inspector
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)                   
  • Other fire and/or safety related careers

Successful candidates for the Fire Science Academy Track will be determined through a selection process. In order to be eligible for the selection process candidates MUST attend one of the informational sessions.

All informational sessions will be conducted at Valencia College’s School of Public Safety located at 8600 Valencia College Lane, Orlando, FL 32825.
