Dr. Carol Tavris is a celebrated social psychologist with a background in motivated reasoning and cognitive dissonance. The presentation is based upon her book Mistakes Were Made, But Not By Me which investigates all the tricky ways that our mind fools itself, in order to avoid stumbling across uncomfortable truths. As I tell my students: If you want to be a better critical thinker, you have to be wary of the traps your own mind has set.
