Pasitos a Valencia – Thursday, December 7, 2017
This past September, our friends in Puerto Rico, and Virgin Islands suffered a great loss after the devastation left by Hurricane Maria. Many individuals were displaced from their homes and relocated to Central Florida. Moving from a different country, and trying to start a new life can be very costly and we want to be sure that all those new community members have some assistance to finance their dreams to begin or continue their education.
We want to help students relocating to the area and enrolling at Valencia College by providing scholarships to minimize their financial impact. A group of faculty and staff from Osceola, Lake Nona, and Poinciana campuses have organized an event to raise funds to provide educational opportunities to those students who were displaced. The event is called “Pasitos a Valencia” and it will take place on Thursday, December 7th from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Join us for food trucks, music, games, and fun for the family.
