In New York City in the 1970’s dancer, choreographer, and educator Mary Overlie founded a movement technique called “The Six Viewpoints.” Later honed by theatre practitioner Anne Bogart and taught as the core of theatre curriculum. The viewpoints provide a metaphysical framework through which to develop, train, and analyze performance. In this workshop, during Spring Arts Week (SAW) we’ll break reality down into the categories of space, shape, time, emotion, movement, story, and look at the actor as a stoic “observer/participant” of life. Please wear movement clothes.
