This presentation talks about the character of Black Panther and his role in spearheading more and better representation of black characters in Marvel comic books. The presentation goes through the history of black representation specifically in Marvel comics, and some issues of identity and immigration, but touches on Golden Age comics outside of Marvel leading up to the first appearance of Black Panther in 1966 as the first Black Superhero paving the way for many more to come. Presented by Professor Chris Mason.
