Flamenco music and dance has an extensive historical background that parallels the cultural development of Spain itself. Hailing from southern Spain's outcast populations, what can be considered a precursor to flamenco included Moorish, Jewish, African and Gitano influences. In 2010, UNESCO declared flamenco one of the masterpieces of Intangible Heritage of Humanity.  Join Annette Morcos, a, passionate Flamenco performer and instructor, as she joins us from Spain to provide an introduction to Flamenco and to share a performance.
