“On my way to discovering the solution of the dream all kinds of things were revealed which I was unwilling to admit even to myself.” -Sigmund Freud
The Osceola Gallery exhibit Kaleidoscope Dreams is on loan from the Anita S. Wooten Gallery. This Modern Art collection includes a myriad of eclectic styles, including graphite drawings, oil on canvas and photography from the 20th Century. Throughout the history of art, the dream is a common theme; mysterious and elusive, images surrounding dreams that disturb, fascinate, and mystify our minds.
We invite you to visit the gallery to share your dreams in the Dream Journal, use the kaleidoscope to stimulate your imagination or sit in a comfortable chair to read Sigmund Freud’s The Interpretation of Dreams. First published in 1900, it provides a groundbreaking theory of dreams and an innovative method for interpretating them that captivates readers to this day. According to Freud, dreaming is a mental activity that follows its own logical mechanisms, bringing new light to the powerful workings of the unconscious and the human experience.
