About this Event
Mims, FL
Join us for the opportunity to view TWO fantastic exhibits at TWO Central Florida venues!
The Harry T. & Harriette V. Moore Cultural Complex is a national civil rights resource and tourist center highlighting two civil rights activists who fought for justice. Despite facing threats and violence, they never gave up on their mission to create a better world for all. This museum incorporates the latest technology and information management systems to form cooperative working relationships with academic, corporate and cultural institutions throughout the nation and the world.
The White Sands Buddhist Center is a Vietnamese Mahayana temple and monastery. The grounds feature beautifully carved works of art and three of the largest granite statues of the Buddha in Florida.
This trip will take place on Friday, February 28th. Lunch and transportation are both provided. We will depart from Osceola Campus and should return to campus around 4:30 p.m. Meet at 8:30 a.m. at the flagpole between Building 2 and Denn John Lane.
Tickets will be available on a first come, first serve basis at the Osceola Campus Business Office for the cost of $7.00 starting January 15th. Please note that when you make your purchase, you will not be given a ticket, but rather will meet us on campus Friday morning to board the bus and enjoy the ride.
