As the fall semester begins, Valencia College will host 69 international students through our inbound exchange programs. The Study Abroad & Global Experiences team has been hard at work ensuring a smooth transition for these students, with airport pick-ups and orientation sessions designed to help them adjust to life in the U.S. Here's a look at the exciting programs they are participating in:

Community College Initiative Program

We are looking forward to another great year of hosting international students through the Community College Initiative Program. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and administered by Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA), this one-year academic exchange program allows students from around the globe to study at U.S. community colleges. In early August, we welcomed 12 new students from Mexico, Indonesia, India, Turkey, Egypt, Ukraine, South Africa, Colombia, Ghana, and Brazil. These students are already immersing themselves into the Orlando community, engaging in volunteering activities and sharing their cultures. They have a busy year ahead of them, including academic coursework, volunteer work, internships, cultural events, leadership workshops, and a community impact project.

International Disney College Program

We’re excited to have 56 students from Japan and Colombia join us for our semester-long International Disney College Program. This longstanding program offers international students a unique blend of academic coursework in leadership and business at Valencia College, paired with 30 hours per week of hands-on training at Walt Disney World Resorts. Over the past decade, this program has provided invaluable academic and practical experience along with cultural exchange opportunities.

Zealand Academy of Technologies and Business

Our partnership with Zealand Academy of Technologies and Business continues to thrive. This semester, we welcomed an exchange student from Zealand, and we’re excited about the opportunities it presents for both our students and theirs. We have multiple Valencia students interested in studying abroad in Denmark for a semester. Stay tuned for updates on our upcoming Blended Mobility program, where eight Valencia students will travel to Denmark for an enriching two-week experience in the Spring!
