Nicole Sealey and John Murillo are both poets, each hold fellowships from the Cave Canem foundation, and have mentored young writers in Central Florida. Nicole Sealey is the author of Ordinary Beast and The Animal After Whom Other Animals are Named, a winner of the 2015 Drinking Gourd Poetry Chapbook Prize. Her other honors include an Elizabeth George Foundation Grant, the Stanley Kunitz Memorial Prize, The Poetry International Prize, and various honors and fellowships. John Murillo is the author of Up Jump the Boogie and Matador’s Ghost, forthcoming from Four Way Books. His honors include the J. Howard and M.J. Wood Prize from the Poetry Foundation, a Pushcart Prize, and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, and the New York Times. Their work has appeared separately in journals and magazines such as The New Yorker, Ploughshares, Prairie Schrooner, and The New York Times. John Murillo currently teaches at Hampshire College and New York University. Nicole Sealey is the current executive director at the Cave Canem Foundtion. They live together in Brooklyn, New York.
